Throughout the European econimic area there is a severe shortage of skilled workers (197.888 in 2017, only 172.087 in 2022). This calls for an innovative project which solves the issue of missing motivation for STEM fields. DIETER presents an unique and novel approach to solving this problem.
State of the Art Technology
To support and enhance the learning process we aim to provide State of the Art Technology, which enables easy and quick learning progress.

This study aims to support first-year students as well as pupils in their advanced school progress.
How does it work?
DIETER simulates a fictional scenario where players are in a modern research station on Vienna's Donauinsel, facing climate change impacts. Players, primarily in teams, tackle challenges through mini-games to solve issues like power grid restoration and water purification. They also learn STEM basics, reviewed post-game.
The main component is a platform-independent web application for laptops/tablets, integrating mini-games that address technical challenges using various technologies (web, app, AR, VR, MR, gadgets). This enhances player experience and motivation. Gameplay is non-linear, with multiple mini-games available, requiring players to prioritize based on the situation.
