eHealth Summer School 2022

The University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, located in Vila Real (Portugal), is a high-level institution, dedicated to the creation, transmission and diffusion of culture, knowledge and science.

The eHealth Summer School will take place from the 11.7. to 15.7.2022. The participants will be introduced to the state-of-the-art and future concepts of medical pathways and eHealth.

We invite students and graduates from all over the world who are enthusiastic about the rapidly evolving field of eHealth! Get an impression from the last eHealth Summer School.

Dear applicants! We are pleased about your interest in the eHealth Summer School 2022. The participation is free of charge and on the first-come, first-serve basis. We will get in touch with you via email after the internal review of your application. The Summer School will be held in English. The upper-intermediate English language proficiency is required (B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)). We invite students and graduates interested in topics related to healthcare, medical devices and medical IT applications. Please note, that you will be redirected to the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien webpage, during the registration process. This process will ask you to provide a CV.

Content and topics (a first outline)

• The world of HL7 communication standards – focusing on HL7 FHIR
• Virtual reality in medical application and learning
• Simulation based training in hospitals (live demonstration)
• IT-architectures to provide an electronic health record service
• IoT – applications in the medical domain

General setup

• Keynotes and presentations in the mornings
• Projects/hand-on experiences/workshops in the afternoon
• Coffee in-between ;)
• Presentations of the projects in the end of the week

Accommodation (suggestion)

There are available rooms in student residencies. Prices range from approx. 15€ per night and person in a double room to 20€ per night in a single room. Please note that these rooms have a shared bathroom.
