IT solutions enable us to share medical information between the different stakeholders involved in the treatment and care process. This sharing demands the exchange of information between different systems of different vendors. Therefore, interoperability of systems is needed. One European approach to provide interoperability is based on the suggested use of IHE profiles and HL7 CDA documents. The latter are shortly introduced in this presentation.

The lecture gives an overview of current aspects of information security that have to be taken into account when setting up and operating an electronic health record system. It gives an overview of the IT security objectives and shows the path from theory to implementation in practice for an exemplary security measure. In addition, non-technical attack surfaces are pointed out and small attack examples are presented

In terms of document management, CHTMAD was facing several difficulties, including delays in completing administrative activities, document searches, and the need to review documents and their histories. The CHTMAD implemented a document management solution that enables the archiving, classification, and administration of interdepartmental papers considering the specified demands. Based on SharePoint Online, the provided portal makes use of Nintex Workflows and Forms for Business Process Management (BPM) to build business rules and integrate with other applications.
